This site is a review forum on walking in the southwest of England. Over the years my life has taken me to many places through out the west of England,and i have always found great joy and solice in the many aspects of its countryside. I particularly love the different characters of each county, from cornwall ,devon, somerset and dorset up to wiltshire and west berkshire, each one very different in character and atmosphere. I,m hoping you find these things interesting and feel happy to post your feelings and experiences to help us all gain more knowledge and enjoyment of this beautiful land.
It is not just the beauty of the plains,cleaves,moors and tors, but as i mentioned earlier, each has its own very strong and individual “atmosphere” maybe its the pagan in me but the senses are certainly enhanced, and i never feel i am walking alone. I suppose its easy to feel this as there are so many ancient sites and antiquities throughout the region from the well known, to the obscure,each have their own “feel”.
